What is Gachapon?
Gachapon (sometimes referred to as Gashapon) is a popular type of vending machine in Japan that dispenses small collectibles or figurines in limited edition series or sets. In 1960, Ryuzo Shigeta, or ガチャガチャおじさん (literally “Gachapon Grandfather) got his hands on a coin-operated prize machine.
He then filled it up with capsule balls and created the first Gachapon machine in Japan!
The collectibles that are dispensed from gachapon machines are often themed around popular anime, video games, or manga franchises. Gachapon can range in size and complexity, from simple keychains to highly detailed figurines. We only dispense authentic Japanese Gachapon with many of our products being exclusive to Japan.
